18th round of political consultations between Uzbekistan and Germany

esterday, Tashkent hosted the 18th round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Germany, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Uzbekistan MFA, the delegations were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov and the Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Matthias Lüttenberg.

During the event, the sides discussed in detail the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, issues of expanding political relations, and the schedule of upcoming contacts at various levels.

Particular attention was paid to economic diplomacy, including attracting German investments and technologies to the implementation of projects in Uzbekistan, increasing export of Uzbekistan made products to Germany.

The sides reviewed the inventory of the signed bilateral documents, discussed the current state of the legal framework, as well as the implementation of previously reached agreements.

They also exchanged views on boosting cultural and humanitarian ties, in particular in the field of education and healthcare.

The parties discussed the issues of interaction within international organizations and financial institutions. The German side expressed its readiness to further expand cooperation in the “Uzbekistan-Germany-EU” format, including within the framework of the initiative of the German Federal Foreign Office “Green Central Asia” and the EU Strategy for Central Asia.

They also considered certain aspects of the international and regional agenda.
