The South Korean Government has decided to provide comprehensive emergency assistance for $5 million to combat the coronavirus infection COVID-19 in Uzbekistan.

According to the Embassy of this country in Tashkent, it is planned to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Office of the Korea International Cooperation Agency in Tashkent (KOICA) and the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan for implementation of this program as soon as possible.

Various activities in all areas related to combating the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection will be promoted within the framework of the project. They include equipping with medical equipment, improving the skills of professional personnel, mainly medical personnel, developing mobile applications that provide information about COVID-19 and supporting socially vulnerable groups of the population with necessary personal protective equipment.
