A meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asia and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf kicks off in Tashkent

Tashkent hosts the second meeting of foreign ministers of the Strategic Dialogue “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf”.

Delegations from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia are participating in the event. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, is participating as an honorary guest.

The meeting is scheduled to review the progress of the implementation of agreements reached within the framework of the first summit of the heads of state of Central Asia and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, held on July 19, 2023, in Jeddah, to discuss the development of cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, transport and communications, cultural, humanitarian fields, as well as in security and environmental protection. Views will be exchanged on preparations for the next summit in the “Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council” format in Samarkand in 2025.
