Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov has arrived in Nukus to attend the international conference "The Aral Sea - Territory of Environmental Innovations and Technologies", which will be held on October 24-25 in Nukus.
Reuters Peter Burian has been received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.The sides noted that in recent years relations between Uzbekistan and the EU have reached a qualitatively new level and the two sides are ready to work on expanding cooperation.
It was noted that the ongoing economic liberalization in Uzbekistan opens up favorable opportunities for the European business community to operate more fully in our country.
These and other topical issues are expected to be discussed during a visit of an influential Uzbek delegation to Brussels on November 11-13 and the next meeting of the Uzbekistan - EU Cooperation Council.
During the meeting, it was expressed gratitude to the European partners for the initiative of Uzbekistan on establishment of the Multi-Donor Trust Fund for the Aral Sea region under the auspices of the UN.
The sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
The same day, Peter Burian met with Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan.
The sides also discussed prospects of cooperation in the implementation of joint projects in Afghanistan, including economic and educational projects.
Ambassador Edwards Stiprays, Head of the Delegation of the European Union, attended the talks.
