Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with Pakistan's FM

On 18 June 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in Antalya, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of multifaceted Uzbekistan – Pakistan relations.

The importance of full-scale implementation of the agreements reached and signed following the summit between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan held on 14 April 2021, and active promotion of joint projects in healthcare, education and tourism, was noted.

The main attention was paid to the regional issues, primarily ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan, restoring its economy through joint implementation of socio-economic and infrastructure projects.

Foreign Ministers considered practical aspects of the participation of the Pakistani side in the High-Level International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” to be held on July 15-16 this year in Tashkent.

Views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest on the bilateral agenda.
