Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with Special Representative of Japan MFA

On July 29, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Central Asia, Hideki Uyama, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral relations.

As noted during the conversation, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan is sustainable and dynamic in almost all areas and is based on the principles of mutual respect, trust and support. The coincidence of positions and similarity of approaches of the parties on priorities for development and strengthening of interstate relations, as well as on international and regional issues, were emphasized.

The sides noted with satisfaction the successful results of the joint meeting of Uzbekistan – Japan and Japan – Uzbekistan economic cooperation committees held in the first half of July, meetings of the government delegation of Uzbekistan with the heads of ministries and agencies, leading manufacturers and financial structures of Japan, in Tokyo.

At the meeting, views were exchanged on the schedule and agenda of upcoming high-level bilateral contacts in the second half of the year.

On the same day, the 17th round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Japan was held.

Delegations led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov and the Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Central Asia, Hideki Uyama, exchanged views on a wide range of issues on bilateral agenda, considered the state and prospects of interaction in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, as well as within the UN, other global and regional organizations.
