Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with the Ambassador of Ukraine

On July 1, 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Mykola Doroshenko, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

Accepting copies of his credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on taking office and wished him success in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

At the meeting, current issues of Uzbekistan – Ukraine interaction in various fields were discussed. Particular attention was paid to development of cooperation in trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, tourism, educational, medical and other spheres.

The proposals on conducting joint activities, including the next meeting of Uzbekistan – Ukraine Intergovernmental Commission on comprehensive cooperation, were considered.

During the conversation, it was noted that the coronavirus pandemic negatively affects the bilateral trade. In this context, the parties confirmed their interest in enhancing direct contacts between businesspeople, chambers of commerce and industry and the regions of Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

The parties expressed their readiness to implement joint scientific projects, intensify cooperation in science, technology and innovation.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the negotiations.
