Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea

On October 16, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who arrived in Nur-Sultan to attend the 12th Cooperation Forum “Republic of Korea – Central Asia”, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Kang Kyung-wha.

The ministers reviewed the progress of implementation of multifaceted agreements reached on April 18-21 within the framework of the state visit of President Moon Jae-in to Uzbekistan and negotiations with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamic nature of bilateral relations in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other fields. In the first half of 2019, the trade turnover reached 1.8 billion USD, which is 75% higher than the same period last year.

Mechanisms for further implementation of joint investment, as well as socially significant projects, prospects for cooperation in implementation of “electronic government”, information-communication technologies, education, health and agriculture were considered at the meeting.

Foreign ministers exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
