Abdulaziz Kamilov talks with India's External Affairs Minister

A telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and the External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of expanding the multifaceted Uzbekistan – Indian cooperation, international and regional issues.

The ministers reviewed the schedule of upcoming meetings at the highest level. It was noted that the parties pay special attention to further strengthening the strategic partnership of the two countries, which is based on friendship and trust between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the conversation, particular attention was also paid to establishing cooperation in the fight against the spread of coronavirus. In this context, the importance of joint efforts to mitigate the negative impact of the pandemic was noted.

The ministers emphasized the need for active use of new interaction formats to discuss current aspects of bilateral cooperation.

The parties considered the current situation in Afghanistan. They agreed to coordinate efforts to promote peace, national harmony and economic recovery in Afghanistan.
