Ambassador of Uzbekistan meets with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov has met with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (Dewan Rakyat) of the Parliament of Malaysia, Mohd Rashid bin Hasnon, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The Malaysian side was informed about President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiatives announced at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly.

The Malaysian side highly appreciates the large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan aimed at further liberalizing and modernizing the economy, improving public administration and judicial-legal sphere.

The sides also discussed the current state and priority areas for further development of Uzbekistan – Malaysia cooperation.

The importance of establishing practical interaction between the newly created inter-parliamentary friendship groups in the legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and Malaysia this year was noted.

Mutual interest in further expanding cooperation and mutual support for initiatives within the framework of international organizations, in particular UN, OIC and other international structures, was confirmed.

Following the negotiations, the sides agreed to continue political-diplomatic contacts to further expand the agenda of Uzbekistan – Malaysia cooperation.
