“Central Asia – USA” Ministerial Meeting continues

Tashkent hosts a meeting of Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries and the United States in “C5+1” format.

The meeting is being attended by Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Mukhtar Tleuberdi, the Kyrgyz Republic – Chingiz Aidarbekov, the Republic of Tajikistan – Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Turkmenistan – Rashid Meredov, the Republic of Uzbekistan – Abdulaziz Kamilov and U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

Welcoming the guests, A.Kamilov thanked them for visiting Tashkent to attend the important event on cooperation between Central Asia and the United States.

“The format of this meeting, established in 2015 in Samarkand, has become as a very important, timely, effective mechanism for supporting and expanding regional mutually beneficial cooperation”, said A. Kamilov. “C5+1” format talks have become regular. This is our third meeting over the last 5 months.

It is expected that Foreign Ministers will consider current issues of developing cooperation between Central Asia and the United States.
