Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan Amira Fahmy, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the upper house of Parliament, the Ambassador thanked for the reception and noted that the Presidential Elections on October 24 this year were successful, open and transparent, with the participation of a large number of international observers. A high assessment was given to the work carried out in the country on cooperation with foreign countries.
It was noted that the development of multilateral and mutually beneficial relations with Arab countries, in particular with Egypt, is one of the priority directions of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.
The parties focused on the issues of enhancing the activities of friendship groups in the parliaments of the two countries.
At the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to cooperate in ensuring gender equality and protecting the rights and interests of women.
