Chairperson of the Senate receives the Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration

Yesterday, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, has met with the Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration for Central Asia, Zeynal Hajiyev, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the upper house of parliament, the parties discussed issues of ensuring employment in Uzbekistan, creating decent jobs and working conditions, the activity carried out on external migration, as well as tasks for the future. Protecting the rights and interests of Uzbekistan citizens abroad, providing decent work, returning victims of human trafficking to the country, carrying out work in illegal migration and other areas, were considered.

It was noted that in recent years, large-scale reforms have been carried out in the country aimed at protecting the rights and improving the living conditions of migrant workers working abroad.

At the meeting, the current state of relations between Uzbekistan and IOM and the possibilities of enhancing the scale of cooperation, taking into account new directions, were considered.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to jointly implement certain tasks for international cooperation. An agreement was reached on further intensifying contacts on mutually beneficial issues, enhancing ties between the IOM and the relevant agencies of Uzbekistan.
