Deputy Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries meet in Dushanbe

Dushanbe hosted a meeting of the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Central Asian countries, organized by the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA).

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the country’s delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Furkat Sidikov.

The participants of the event discussed the efforts being made in the region to respond to existing challenges and threats, the state and prospects of cooperation with UNRCCA, as well as the opening opportunities for dialogue with youth leaders.

The results of the implementation of the third phase of the joint project on the implementation of the Joint Action Plan within the framework of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia were considered. The presentation of the main directions of the fourth phase of the project took place.

Issues of further building up regional cooperation in promoting the green agenda, preserving ecology and biodiversity, and rational use of natural resources were discussed.
