Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sardor Umurzakov, has held a videoconference with the Mayor of the Japanese city of Nagoya, Takashi Kawamura.

The parties exchanged views on the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Nagoya last December.

During the talks, a wide range of issues was considered on further expansion of economic cooperation, development of tourism, exchange of specialists, intensification of air traffic, as well as on cooperation in the fight against coronavirus infection.

An agreement was reached on close cooperation with the mayor’s office of Nagoya on preparations for holding high-level joint events within the framework of cooperation in culture and tourism, as well as organizing a business forum designed to establish direct ties between Uzbekistan and Japanese entrepreneurs.

The possibilities of implementing the experience of the city of Nagoya in countering the coronavirus pandemic were considered.

Issues related to the implementation of joint projects were also considered. Thus, in particular, the progress of work on creation of an IT-park in Tashkent and the priority measures to accelerate the implementation of this initiative were discussed.
