Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and the Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation of Afghanistan discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation

Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has met with the Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation of Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in political, investment, trade and economic, transport, logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as issues of interaction in the regional context.

The sides noted the importance of ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan as a key factor for sustainable development and economic cooperation in the region.

Views were exchanged on strengthening mutual ties between Central and South Asia, implementing joint projects to improve transport and energy infrastructure, including by accelerating the implementation of projects for development of the Trans-Afghan transport corridor and construction of Surkhan – Puli-Khumri power line.

The parties also discussed issues of deepening industrial cooperation and business partnership among entrepreneurs of the two countries.
