Development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan discussed in Tokyo

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov has met with Member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament Shunichi Suzuki to discuss the development of Uzbekistan – Japan cooperation, reports IA “Dunyo” correspondent.

At the meeting, issues of further intensifying inter-parliamentary cooperation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic were discussed.

An agreement was reached on the joint discussion of bilateral measures to strengthen cooperation between the Inter-Parliamentary Group “Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Parliament of Japan” and the Japanese Parliamentary League of Friendship with Uzbekistan.

The parties also discussed issues of mutual support of candidates and initiatives of Uzbekistan and Japan within the framework of international organizations, including the UN, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and other multilateral structures.
