First Ambassador of Sierra Leone accredited to Uzbekistan

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received Mohamed Yongawo, the first Ambassador of Sierra Leone to our country, reports "Dunyo" IA correspondent.

"Glad to welcome Sierra Leone’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan H.E. Mohamed Yongawo and receive his credentials, – the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram channel. – There is a big underutilized room of opportunities to enrich our bilateral ties. Wish Mr. Ambassador all the success in exploring vast possibilities in all spheres during his tenure".

It is worth recalling that Uzbekistan and Sierra Leone established diplomatic relations on April 28, 2023, with a Joint Communiqué signed in New York by the permanent representatives of Uzbekistan and Sierra Leone to the UN. The Republic of Sierra Leone became the 143rd state to establish diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan.
