Following the event, a Joint Statement was adopted by the Foreign Ministers of the SCO Member States

Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov attended SCO – Afghanistan Contact Group Meeting in Dushanbe, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Uzbekistan MFA, Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan and the SCO Member States, the Organization’s Secretariat, the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure discussed aspects of joint actions of the parties in the Afghan direction, measures to support the promotion of the comprehensive peace process, the return of Afghanistan to the path of stable development and economic revival.

Uzbekistan’s FM informed about the position of the country on the main issues related to the Afghan problem.

It was noted that Uzbekistan remains committed to the fundamental principle that the political process in Afghanistan should be carried out only by the Afghans themselves and under the leadership of Afghanistan people.

Following the event, a Joint Statement was adopted by the Foreign Ministers of the SCO Member States.
