Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan speak over the phone

On April 6, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a telephone conversation with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hanif Atmar.

Abdulaziz Kamilov congratulated Hanif Atmar on his appointment as the head of the foreign affairs agency and wished him success in his activity.

Hanif Atmar expressed deep gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the support provided by Uzbekistan to international efforts in political settlement of the crisis in Afghanistan.

He also thanked the Uzbek side for the humanitarian aid in the form of sought-after medicines and food products.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, foreign ministers exchanged views on bilateral agenda and a number of regional policy issues.
