Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Canada pay special attention to the active promotion of economic diplomacy

As part of the 29th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Poland, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Mélanie, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbekistan – Canadian cooperation in diplomatic, political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.

The need for enhancing the legal base of bilateral relations and strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue was emphasized.

The primary attention was paid to the active promotion of economic diplomacy by attracting Canadian investors to projects in various sectors of Uzbekistan, establishing contacts between representatives of the business circles of the two countries.

Interest was expressed in enhancing scientific and educational ties through mutual visits and implementing academic programs with Canadian universities, opening branches of leading Canadian universities in Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed prospects for establishing sister city relations between the two countries’ regions, the implementation of joint projects in ecology, digitalization and the green economy.
