Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov had a telephone conversation with the U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The Secretary of State welcomed the successful political consultations that took place during the visit of Uzbekistan delegation to Washington on November 16-20, 2020.

The sides noted a thorough exchange of views and achievement of practically significant agreements on further strengthening and development of bilateral relations during the visit.

The Head of the State Department emphasized the special importance of transforming the format of political consultations into a Strategic Partnership Dialogue reflecting the level and dynamics of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.

Views were also exchanged on regional cooperation, C5+1 cooperation, resolving the situation in Afghanistan, socio-economic recovery and ensuring stability in the country.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
