Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group “Qatar – Uzbekistan” established in Qatar's Parliament

An Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group “Qatar – Uzbekistan” has been established in Qatar’s Parliament, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The Friendship Group includes 6 members of the Advisory Council. Deputy Rashid bin Hamad al- Meadadi is elected the Chairman of the Friendship Group.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuwait, the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group has been established as part of the implementation of the agreements reached on February 22-25 following the visit of Uzbekistan delegation to Doha to establish and strengthen cooperation between the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and Qatar Advisory Council.

Deputy Speaker of the Advisory Council Mohammed bin Abdulla al-Sulaiti said that the Qatari side is interested in the progressive development of reliable and trusting relations with Uzbekistan in all areas of cooperation, including inter-parliamentary ties. The establishment of the friendship groups is the result of a successful, open and constructive dialogue between the two countries.
