On 24 July 2019, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Charge d’affaires ad interim of Japan Atsushi Suda.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, during the conversation, the parties discussed the efforts of Uzbekistan and Japan to resolve the Afghan crisis, priority areas of cooperation in joint implementation of various projects in Afghanistan.
The Japanese side highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s efforts on launching the peaceful political process in Afghanistan, large-scale economic projects carried out in the country and fully supported the opinion on importance of expanding actions of the international community in reconstruction of socio-economic infrastructure of Afghanistan.
