Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN, Ambassador Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, has met with the Executive Director at UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office, Jennifer Topping.
The parties discussed further action plans to raise additional funds for the trust fund and expand the Advisory Council for Sustainable Development of the Aral Sea Region.
Jennifer Topping welcomed the unanimous adoption by the UN General Assembly of a special resolution on the declaration of the Aral Sea region as a zone of environmental innovations and technologies.
The parties exchanged views on the current activities of the UN Multi-Partner Human Security Trust Fund for the Aral Sea region, the ongoing work with donor organizations to attract their financial resources, and discussed the next practical steps to enhance cooperation.
