Leaders of Uzbekistan and Qatar discuss prospects for enhancing strategic partnership

The issues of practical implementation of agreements at the highest level and promotion of investment projects were the focus of the telephone conversation between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, which took place on December 17.

The President of Uzbekistan warmly congratulated the Amir of Qatar on the national holiday – the Foundation Day of the State, sincerely wishing him health, well-being, and success, as well as peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Qatar.

The current issues of further enhancing multifaceted cooperation and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries were discussed.

The results of active contacts and exchanges were positively assessed. In November this year, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum were fruitfully held in the city of Doha. In October, the events of the Qatar Culture Week were successfully organized in the city of Tashkent.

Investment projects in energy, transport, and tourism infrastructure development, agriculture, healthcare, and other priority areas are being implemented with the participation of leading Qatari companies.

Regular direct flights have been established between the capitals, contributing to the growth of mutual tourist flow.

During the conversation, the heads of state paid special attention to the schedule of upcoming events in 2025, including the second summit of the dialogue “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf”.

Views were exchanged on current issues on the international agenda.
