A meeting of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Forced Labor was held in Tashkent.
At the meeting, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Forced Labor, Tanzila Narbayeva, made a presentation on the work being carried out to combat human trafficking and forced labor. She noted that in the world human trafficking and forced labor spoil life. Unfortunately, Uzbekistan was no exception: our children picked cotton. It was not easy to handle this. However, one of our greatest achievements was the elimination of forced child labor. By attracting representatives of different professions to field, cleaning work today are referred categorically.
According to the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On additional measures for further improving the system of combating trafficking in human beings and forced labor” of July 30, 2019, the Institute of National Rapporteur was created.
With the commencement of the work of the commission in this direction, crimes related to trafficking in human beings decreased by 22 percent.
The National Commission, taking into account the proposals of relevant ministries and agencies, developed an action plan, a plan of measures for the practical implementation of the tasks forwarded in this direction and approved it at the meeting of the commission.
