Meeting with the Ambassador of the EU and the UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan

Yesterday, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held a meeting with the Ambassador of the European Union Charlotte Adriaen and the UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Matilda Dimovska, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, during the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan, the EU and UNDP in the framework of the implementation of educational programs in Uzbekistan for Afghan citizens, especially boys and girls.

The sides noted the need to ensure the rights and freedoms of women in Afghanistan in work and education, as well as, to continue humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people, who faced difficult socio-economic conditions.

The EU Ambassador emphasized the EU’s commitment to continue providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and the EU’s readiness to work closely with Uzbekistan in this direction.
