On July 17, 2019, Uzbekistan delegation met with representatives of the U.S. Department of the Treasury led by Deputy Assistant Secretary for Technical Assistance Policy Larry McDonald.
At the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
The Memorandum defines tasks related to the competence of the Capital Market Development Agency on rationalization and optimization of the financial market architecture, providing solutions for development of sustainable financial management, improvement of the legal framework of the capital market, implementation of financial instruments, their strategic management and risk minimization.
Following the meeting, it was decided to identify and send short-term specialists with practical experience in development of capital market to the Agency in the near future.
