Meeting with UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan

On June 1, 2020, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov met with UN Resident Coordinator for the Republic of Uzbekistan Helena Fraser via videoconference, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN in such key areas as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, countering the spread of COVID-19 in the country, ensuring the activities of Multi-Partner Human Security Trust Fund for the Aral Sea region were discussed at the meeting.

The sides also exchanged views on holding special events on the 75th Anniversary of the UN and implementing specific joint projects, in particular on strengthening social cohesion of youth and developing cross-border cooperation in Fergana valley.
