Meetings with the heads of the Chambers of the Parliaments of the UAE, Mongolia, and Belgium

Tashkent hosts the 150th IPU Assembly.

Within the framework of the Assembly, Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, held a meeting with Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Issues related to the further development of interparliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE, as well as prospects for deepening bilateral relations in various fields, were discussed.

The parties discussed the results of recent high-level visits, including the Strategic Partnership Agreement signed in January 2025, as well as further steps to implement the reached agreements.

In this context, it was proposed to strengthen parliamentary control over the implementation of agreements and projects within the framework of the roadmaps and memoranda signed between the two countries.

It was noted that strengthening the activities of relevant committees and friendship groups is necessary, as they form the basis for systematic interaction between the two states.

During the conversation with the Deputy Chairman, a Member of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, Khurelbaatar Bulgantuya, special attention was paid to strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Mongolia, with a focus on activating the work of the interparliamentary friendship group and developing a roadmap for interparliamentary collaboration for 2025-2026.

Further plans, including the organization of mutual visits by parliamentary leaders and participation in international parliamentary forums, were discussed during the meeting. This will enable the two countries to promote their shared interests actively.

Essential issues of interparliamentary cooperation and prospects for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries were discussed during the conversation with the President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Belgium, Vincent Blondel.

The parties also discussed further plans, including the organization of a meeting of the Uzbekistan – Belgium Friendship Group.

The need for continued close cooperation within the framework of inter-parliamentary organizations was emphasized following the meeting, with a focus on developing bilateral relations.
