The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade (MIFT) hosted a meeting between the First Deputy Minister – Director-General of the Strategic Development Agency of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the heads of international law firms and organizations, including GST LLP (the United States), Global Advocacy (UAE), Canada Quality Experts (Canada), Centre for Mediation and Arbitration (Lebanon).
According to MIFT, the meeting participants were informed about the ongoing economic reforms and transformations in the country, comprehensive measures to liberalize the economy and improve the investment climate.
At the meeting, issues of practical cooperation in attracting investments, improving legal mechanisms for resolving investment disputes, as well as strengthening the legal framework in business were discussed.
It was noted that the establishment of Tashkent International Arbitration Center (TIAC) has created an effective platform for the prompt resolution of investment and commercial disputes.
Following the event, the parties agreed to maintain active further cooperation within the framework of the considered initiatives and discussed issues.
