MIFT hosts a meeting with the Director General at the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland

The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade (MIFT) hosted a meeting with the Director General at the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Marja Liivala.

According to the MIFT, the parties discussed prospects for the development of Uzbekistan – Finland cooperation in trade, energy, textile industry, ICT and healthcare.

The Finnish side expressed its readiness to continue active participation in the work of the Advisory Committee of the UN Multi-Partner Human Security Trust Fund for the Aral Sea Region, as well as to attract additional funds from several donor organizations, financial institutions and private companies in Finland.

The proposal of the Uzbek side to hold international exhibitions and fairs in Uzbekistan and Finland was received with interest to stimulate direct business contacts, increase mutual trade and investment.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue a more detailed dialogue on priority areas of partnership within the upcoming regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as a business forum of the two countries.
