Minister of Finance of Austria to visit Uzbekistan

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullayev met with the Federal Minister of Finance of Austria, Magnus Brunner, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the banking and financial sector and collaboration within the framework of international financial institutions.

Dr. Magnus Brunner said that he plans to visit Uzbekistan on May 16-18 to participate in the meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Samarkand. The Minister also noted that he would personally chair the 32nd annual meeting of the EBRD’s Board of Governors.

The annual meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors, whose shareholders are 71 countries, as well as the European Union and the European Investment Bank, will be held on May 16-18 in Samarkand. It is expected that about 2,000 representatives of foreign governments, heads of transnational corporations, heads of international financial institutions and banks, experts in economics, investment, finance, and technology, and representatives of foreign media will attend the event.

At the meeting, current trends in the global economy will be discussed. Institutional issues related to the operational and financial activities of the bank will be considered.
