Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and U.S. Under Secretary of State emphasize interest in regular dialogue

On November 20, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov has met with the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale during his visit to the United States, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the current state and prospects for development of bilateral relations, as well as implementation of the agreements reached following the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States in May 2018 were discussed at the meeting. Priority areas for further deepening the multifaceted Uzbekistan – American cooperation were considered.

David Hale welcomed the granting of the status of Strategic Dialogue to the annual political consultations with Uzbekistan.

The American diplomat also noted the progress of Uzbekistan on democratic development, Tashkent’s leadership in promoting regional cooperation in Central Asia and peace in Afghanistan.

Following the talks, David Hale expressed interest in continuing the regular practice of exchanging views on key issues of international and regional development.
