Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov, met with the Chair of the European Parliament Delegation for Central Asia and Mongolia, Fulvio Martusciello, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the sides noted the intensification of the political dialogue between Uzbekistan and the European Union in recent years, discussed current issues in the political, economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres of mutual interest.

The parties positively assessed the negotiation process on the Draft Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the EU.

Views were exchanged on the schedule and agenda of the upcoming joint events, in particular the next round of the EU-CA High-Level Political and Security Dialogue, and the meeting of Uzbekistan – EU Cooperation Council, which is scheduled to be held in Tashkent and Luxembourg, respectively, in April this year.

An agreement was reached on the participation of MEP Fulvio Martusciello in the International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” to be held this year in Tashkent.

The development of cooperation in education, scientific research and tourism was discussed.

Some issues of an international and regional nature were also considered at the meeting.
