Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan meets with USAID Administrator in Washington

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with USAID Administrator Samantha Power, in Washington, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan congratulated Samantha Power on her appointment as the Head of USAID and wished her success in her activities.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of interaction between Uzbekistan and USAID in promoting economic growth, ensuring employment, developing the education and healthcare system, agriculture, as well as solving environmental problems in the Aral Sea region.

Samantha Power welcomed the progress in the implementation of the reforms program in Uzbekistan and expressed her readiness to assist in achieving the Government’s goals for socio-economic and humanitarian development.

The USAID Administrator expressed her gratitude for the invitation to the conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity, Challenges and Opportunities” and noted her readiness to consider the possibility of her participation in the forum.

The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
