The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov yesterday received the new Ambassador of Georgia David Kotaria, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

"Congratulate H.E. David Kotaria on his appointment as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Uzbekistan, - the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram channel. - Today, we received his copies of credentials, discussed the ways to expand bilateral ties between our two nations, and outlined priority areas of cooperation. MFA of Uzbekistan stands ready to fully support Mr. Ambassador in conducting productive diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan".

The 66-year-old diplomat had previously served as the Chargé d’Affaires of Georgia in Uzbekistan. He has held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and its diplomatic missions. From 2012 to 2018, he was the Ambassador to Belarus.
