Ministry of Health and UNICEF implement new projects

The Minister of Health B. Musayev and UNICEF Representative in Uzbekistan, Munir Mammadzade, signed a roadmap for 2022-2025.

The document includes four directions and implies additional measures to develop the healthcare sector in the country for $102.5 million.

According to the Ministry of Health, the first direction is aimed at improving perinatal services, increasing the level of knowledge and skills of medical workers specializing in maternal and child health, equipping medical institutions with modern equipment, and saving the lives of low birthweight babies.

The second direction includes vaccination of children in accordance with the national vaccination schedule, improvement of immunization processes. Major projects will be implemented to improve the water supply of several secondary schools in Karakalpakstan, preventing iodine deficiency and anemia in children. The third direction aims at improving the nutrition of mothers and children.
