MUCC delegation visits Uzbekistan

On September 18-24, 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur organized a visit to Uzbekistan of the delegation of Malaysia – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (MUCC) to discuss prospects for developing bilateral mutually beneficial partnership between businesspeople of the two countries.

During the visit, the Malaysian delegation met with the leadership of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of Uzbekistan Airways, Foreign Investment Promotion Agency and Uztrade JSC.

Within the framework of the meetings, the need was noted for increasing cooperation on the export of products from Uzbekistan to Malaysia. It was also emphasized that a very promising area is investment partnership in tourism. In this regard, a detailed presentation of the investment potential of Uzbekistan’s tourism sector, the available benefits and preferences in this industry was presented.

In turn, the Malaysian side expressed its interest in developing bilateral relations. Ziyorat tourism was noted as one of the potential areas. The launch of programs to improve the skills of workers and the quality of tourism services was proposed as another important area.

Following the talks, the Malaysian side proposed to establish cooperation with Uzbekistan partners in export, in the field of tourism, trade and economy.
