A number of medical facilities built in Samarqand Region on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the country’s independence have been commissioned.
On the basis of the republic’s investment programme for this year, a new building has been built for family polyclinic No 6 in the city of Samarqand, and now it is possible for the polyclinic to provide medical services up to modern standards for 46 thousand people.
This medical establishment has nearly 20 work offices for specialty doctors, laboratories and medical procedure rooms. It has been provided with the necessary medical equipment in accordance with the Salomatlik (health) programme.
“Our polyclinic provides services for the populations of 19 neighbourhoods of the city. Until now, we worked in an old adapted building, which also affected the quality of medical services. And now the necessary conditions have been provided in our establishment for employees to work effectively and to precisely diagnose and treat patients,” says the chief doctor of the medical establishment, Lola Abdullayeva.
More than 10 billion soms of funds were spent in the past three years for the reconstruction of the regional children’s multi-functional health centre, and construction work has also been completed there.
As part of this process, reconstruction and refurbishment work has been carried out at the centre’s departments and polyclinics. Auxiliary buildings have been constructed, and the territory was improved. Now it is possible in the 390-bed centre to identify and treat all sorts of children’s illnesses.
A multi-functional central polyclinic belonging to the Oqdaryo District medical association and the new building of a 30-bed infectious diseases hospital have created many conveniences for the district’s population.
At events held on the occasion of opening these medical establishments, the head of the Samarqand Regional health care directorate, B.Egamberdiyev, and others have said that consistent reforms being implemented in the country’s health care system are producing great results and that work in this area will be continued in the future.
