New works by sculptors from SCO member states for the SCO Summit

International Sculpture Symposium has kicked off in Samarkand with the participation of craftsmen from the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, within a month, professional sculptors, masters of gardening and park sculpture will create works made of solid materials – marble, metal, stone and fireclay.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage together with the Hokimiyat of Samarkand region within the framework of preparation for the upcoming SCO Summit in Samarkand, in September.

Following the symposium, the works of sculptors from the SCO countries will be donated to the organizers for installation in parks and alleys of the city, as well as on the territory of Samarkand “Museum Square”, which includes 7 museums. It is also planned to publish a catalog of these works.
