Norwegian delegation visits Uzbekistan

The delegation led by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Audun Halvorsen visited Uzbekistan.

On November 5, a meeting with Norwegian guests was held at the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sodik Safayev, it was noted that political, trade-economic and investment cooperation is developing between Uzbekistan and Norway. It was noted with great satisfaction that Norway was the first donor country to allocate 1.2 million USD to the United Nations Multi-Partner Human Security Trust Fund for the Aral Sea region.

The importance of developing inter-parliamentary relations, supporting the entry of Norwegian investments into Uzbekistan, expanding bilateral cooperation in establishing high-tech joint ventures and creating effective trading floors was noted.

It was noted that cooperation in lawmaking serves further development of activities on improving the normative-legal framework, and this, in turn, leads to ensuring the priority of law and human rights in the country.
