On the meeting of Uzbekistan – UAE Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation an agreement to create Uzbekistan – UAE Business Council was signed

Yesterday, the 4th meeting of Uzbekistan – UAE Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation has been held, via videoconference, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the Commission is co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of relevant ministries, agencies, industry associations, investment companies and chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries.

The agenda of the meeting covered a wide range of issues of bilateral investment, trade, economic, financial, technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Proposals were made to build up investment partnerships in agriculture. The possibilities for attracting UAE businesses to participate in the state privatization program launched in Uzbekistan, which offers foreign investors a wide range of industrial, real estate, tourism and other assets, were considered.

The parties welcomed the creation of Uzbekistan – UAE Business Council, the task of which will be to establish close and fruitful cooperation between the businesspeople of the two countries and agreed to hold its first meeting in June this year.
