Uzexpocentre hosts two international exhibitions on the textile and fashion industry and the furniture and woodworking industry.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov, Chairman of Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association Ilkhom Khaydarov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikromov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey Olgan Bekar and others noted that Uzbekistan’s textile industry is becoming one among the leaders in attracting foreign investments and exporting products.
About 100 companies from Uzbekistan, Belarus, Korea, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkey are demonstrating their products at the exhibition, held jointly by the Iteca Exhibitions, the ICA Eurasia, Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association, the Textile Advertising and Marketing Agency.
The official partners of the project are the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
“The exposition of the exhibition covers the entire range of products of the textile and light industry (starting from raw materials, threads to finished fabrics, accessories and materials for textile products)”, says Nigora Khasanova, Director General of Iteca Exhibitions.
More than 90 percent of the participants are local manufacturers of finished textile and clothing products.
The International Exhibition of Furniture and Woodworking Industry of Uzbekistan is being held for the seventh time this year. It is attended by more than 70 companies from 12 countries. Enterprises of Uzbekistan, Austria, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Slovenia, Turkey are among them.
There are about 5,300 enterprises for the production of furniture, laminated particle boards, component materials and woodworking. Over 300 thousand people are employed in the industry. Most importantly, 90 percent of the country’s consumer market is provided by local furniture products.
The exhibitions will run until May 29.
