Yesterday, the regular meeting of the Parliamentary Commission of the Oliy Majlis on compliance with Uzbekistan’s international obligations in human rights was held in the Lower House of the Parliament, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber, Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission Akmal Saidov spoke about the work of the commission in improving the mechanism for protecting human rights and freedoms, establishing practical cooperation between the parliament, the government and civil society institutions.
Information was provided on the implementation of the roadmap of the National Strategy for Human Rights of Uzbekistan and the National Action Program for the Implementation of the Provisions of the UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training for the first quarter of 2021.
The participants were also informed about the existing shortcomings and problems in the implementation of the National Action Program for the implementation of the provisions of the UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training.
