Plans for the development of mechanical engineering have been presented to the President of Uzbekistan

Yesterday, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev became familiar with a presentation on the development of the agricultural engineering cluster, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, by the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan of July 31, 2019, a new system of state support for the production and purchase of agricultural machinery was created. This yields its results. Farmers are getting access to production machinery. Only in the first quarter of this year, subsidies for 23 billion UZS were allocated for the purchase of 1.6 thousand units of equipment.

As a result of the modernization of production carried out in 2021, the cost of tractors decreased by $4.6 thousand. Thanks to this, the enterprises of the industry that had previously worked at a loss turned into profit.

A cluster of agricultural machinery is being created based on the industrial cluster in Chirchik to develop the industry. The equipment of the former Technologist and Aggregate plants has been completely relocated here.

Work in this direction and plans were discussed during the presentation.

“Agricultural machinery is a large and important industry. Productivity and food security depend on it. There is still a lot to be done in terms of mastering the production of modern equipment, quality and service”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

To organize systematic work, it was decided to create a commission on agricultural machinery headed by the Prime Minister.

It was noted that, first of all, it is necessary to establish the production of cultivators, seeders, mowers, chisels, harrows based on the transferred capacities to the cluster in Chirchik. It is also planned to relocate the Tashkent Tractor Plant and launch the cluster in January 2023. It was also noted that before that, it is important to study the demand of agro-clusters and farmers, to form specific orders.

Today, there is a high demand for laser leveling equipment. In this regard, responsible persons were instructed to establish the production of such equipment. The instruction was given to completely abandon outdated tractors and create a new domestic tractor model.

It was noted that the use of combines for cotton harvesting this year will reach 35 percent, and in 2023 – 50 percent.

There are also opportunities to localize 90 types of components and reduce the cost of equipment by at least 12 percent by launching a foundry in Andijan by the end of the year.

Another problem that worries farmers and dehkans is repair, search for spare parts, and maintenance of equipment. In this regard, the President noted the need for creating a comprehensive system of implementation and maintenance in mechanical engineering, service centers, and 100 mobile groups in 14 regions.

The tasks for training specialists in the operation of new equipment and the mechanization of agriculture as a whole were defined.
