President becomes familiar with Namangan Railway Station

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev became familiar with Namangan Railway Station after construction and reconstruction activities carried out there.

In order to improve the quality and efficiency of railway transport services provided to the population and foreign tourists, the station was reconstructed for 24 billion UZS at the expense of Uzbekistan Railways and the National Bank of Foreign Economic Activity.

Waiting rooms, a buffet, a medical center, a mother and child room, a reference center, a library, a gift shop, a newsstand and a temporary storage room are equipped in accordance with modern requirements. A three-story hotel with 30 seats was built.

As a result, Namangan Railway Station has acquired a modern appearance, serves 250 passengers simultaneously and the capacity has increased to 2.5 thousand passengers per day.

The station will become an important hub of new ring line of high-speed electric trains, which will connect cities of Fergana valley, as well as strengthen transport links between cities of the valley and other regions of the country.

Thereupon, the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Namangan region has ended. The Head of the state has departed for Tashkent.
