President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting to discuss investment projects that are planned to be implemented in the city of Tashkent.
In 2020-2022, it is planned to implement 762 projects worth 9 billion 884 million USD in Tashkent, including 122 projects under the state and 640 projects under regional investment programs.
242 projects worth 1 billion 890 million USD are planned to be implemented in industry, 337 projects worth 4 billion 966 million USD in the service sector. In housing construction, it is planned to build 183 objects for 3 billion 328 million dollars.
Presentation of promising projects for each district of Tashkent took place at the meeting.
The most important projects are those worth 350 million dollars in the small industrial zone “Industrial Park “Sergeli” and in the amount of 418 million dollars in the Technopark of Yashnabad district.
Development of Tashkent Business Center in Yakkasaray small industrial zone, as well as the erected modern houses, entertainment and business centers in Yunusabad City, are called upon to contribute to the city development.
“Investments and exports are aimed at creating jobs, additional income. Tashkent has very large resources. Currently, they are not even half used. Therefore, we should take full advantage of this, study the potential of small and medium enterprises in the context of each district, expand production and export opportunities, create sources of guaranteed income for people”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was noted that more than 400 projects will be implemented in 2020 as a result of development of investments for 4.8 billion USD. This will serve to create more than 32 thousand new jobs.
This year it is planned to export for 710.5 million USD: industrial products for almost 674 million and food products for 36.5 million USD.
“Altyaryk district exports products worth 120 million USD. This is despite the fact that they do not have such industrial facilities and communications as in Tashkent. The capital has all the infrastructure. The time has come for khokims to stop raking the closets. Now, heads of districts must develop entrepreneurship, provide working capital, promote exports, work with clients. The situation will not change until you won’t change yourself”, the President said.
Instructions were given for attracting investments, as well as external management where required, opening new industries.
