President meets with the leadership of Japan House of Councilors

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has met with the President of the House of Councilors of the National Diet (Japanese parliament) Akiko Santo, in Tokyo.

The current level of inter-parliamentary cooperation, especially the active dialogue between the upper houses of the legislative bodies of the two countries within the framework of the Joint Memorandum adopted this year, was highly appreciated.

Issues of further strengthening Uzbekistan – Japan friendship and strategic partnership were considered. Wide opportunities in education, culture, sports, humanitarian exchanges were noted.

The President of Uzbekistan also became familiar with the historic hall of the House of Councilors of the Japanese Parliament.
